Annual Meeting

–Megan-Drew Tiller

This Sunday was the Annual Meeting at St. Andrew’s, and Grace-on-the-Hill was asked to make a small presentation sharing with the congregation some of our experiences thus far. And then we heard the words I dread the most: “Get creative.” You’d think, being a drama major, that creativity would not affect me so, but I find that I have a very hard time creating from scratch. Give me a script, and I’m very happy to play (if you’ll pardon the pun!). Give me a blank page and you’ll probably receive a blank stare.

In the end, my roommates and I decided on a slideshow of photos and singing a song during the Fellowship lunch in Baldwin Hall. Below are some pictures and the lyrics of our song, sung to the tune of “Hey, Jude.” They only scratch the surface of our experience here, but I think it begins to provide a look into our life on Oregon Hill. Thank y’all for singing and laughing along with us!

GOTH and Bp. Goff

We’re GOTH in Oregon Hill.
We live on top of the new bike shop!
We pray with you right there in that church,
and we work around here too.

We’ve been to Richmond Hill,
And we picnic’d on Belle Isle.
We saw Halloween in Oregon Hill,
And I loved the crazy parade!

We’ve been involved in different ways
Around this place:
We sing in the choir, we read the lessons.
We sing this song to you now,
Please don’t make us fools,
I hope you’ll sing along with me now!

Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah

We’ve brewed some tasty beer,
and he baked you some pumpkin pies!
Yesterday, we helped out at breakfast,
and we got to meet Santa.
Santa Santa Santa Santa Santa  YEAHHHHHHH!!!!

This is Grace-on-the-Hill, Grace-on-the-Hill!
We’re GOTH.
This is Grace-on-the-Hill, Grace-on-the-Hill!
We’re GOTH.
This is Grace-on-the-Hill, Grace-on-the-Hill!
We’re GOTH.
