Hopitality

— vincent hiscock

A million thanks to the St Andrew’s parish community for their exceptional hospitality this year. Ten months ago I walked into a spacious, furnished apartment with kitchen cupboards fully stocked. Over the year a myriad of folks–parishioners at St Andrew’s, students at the school, coworkers, neighbors, communicants of Pine St’s homeless ministries–have truly shared with me gifts of the spirit. Each gift comes entirely fortuitous, necessary, and always on time. The gift of a year cannot be summed, measured, or easily limned. And yet, moving out of Oregon Hill this morning, I can feel its weight shifting around inside.

It feels like gratitude–gratitude mixed with the unrequited desire to adequately say so.

Blessings as you continue to beget, give, and receive the grace of human hospitality.

Peace.
